Product classification or product taxonomy organizes products for a variety of purposes.

Some standard product classifications include:

• CPC -- Central Product Classification
• HS -- Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System
• CPA -- Classification of Products by Activity
• SITC -- Standard International Trade Classification
• Trade in Services
• Global Classification and Harmonized Schedule Numbers for customs classification
• UNSPSC, the United Nations Standard Products and Services Code
